II International Youth Theatre Forum of the CIS, the Baltic States, and Georgia

On November 26, 2015, in Minsk came to an end the 2nd International Youth Theatre Forum of the CIS, the Baltic States, and Georgia.

During the closing ceremony on the stage of Yanka Kupala National Academic Theatre, the Winners of the Forum were announced. 

The main prize of the Forum - the Golden Umbrella - won the production “Pure Mind/Bite Me", author and director - Renate Keerd, produced by the Nii company and New Theatre Tartu (Estonia). This production also got the right to take part in the XIII International Chekhov Theatre Festival, which will be held in 2017. The Silver Umbrella and II Prize received the performance People’s love by Dmitry Bogoslavsky, directed by Stanislav Zhirkov, Kiev academic Young Theatre (Ukraine). The Bronze Umbrella and 3rd Prize were awarded to the production of Hamlet, a tragifarce in 2 acts by William Shakespeare, directed by Igor Kazakov, Mogilev Regional Puppet Theatre (Belarus).

The Jury also presented special prizes to actor Kirill Imerov for his role of Kolya in the production of Cloud paradise (Russia), to Mariam Kazanchyan for the role of Joe in The Taste of Honey (Armenia) and to Dmitry Bogoslavsky for versatile theatrical talent. 

Women of Troy, directed by Data Tavadze at the Royal Quarter Theatre (Tbilisi, Georgia) won the young critics award for the best performance.

2nd Youth Theatre Forum of the CIS, the Baltic States, and Georgia was held with the support of the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation. Representatives of 14 countries took part in the Forum: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Estonia.

Organisers of the Forum: the Intergovernmental Foundation for Educational, Scientific and Cultural Cooperation, International Confederation of Theatre Associations, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk City Executive Committee, The Republican Theatre of the Belarusian dramaturgy.
